2003 – 25th edition
Disputed between Lamoura and Mouthe in gruelling weather conditions (Nordic temperatures and strong winds); One of the last entrants registered, Patrick Roelli (Swiss), 30 years of age, won the 2003 edition of La Transjurassienne in 4:06:30.46.
Member of the Swiss cross-country ski team, La Transjurassienne was Roelli’s last chance to make the cut for the World Championships in Val di Fiemme (Italy).
Motivated by the simple happiness of participating in La Transjurassienne once again and moved by the incredible ambience all along the race course recalling warm souvenirs of his participation and 6th place in 2000; the Swiss crossed the finish line with a 5 minute advance, in front of his compatriot Christophe Fresard and the Frenchman Jean-Christophe Dupont. Stéphane Passeron was the 1st “Jurassien” to cross the finish line in 4th position followed by Didier Roy (7th), both members of “Team Rossignol”.
No surprises in the women’s results… a certain logic was respected! Annick Vaxelaire-Pierrel, member of the French ski team and winner of La Trans’roller 2002 won her first Transjurassienne 11 minutes ahead of the American Christie Aschwanden.
